Yanar Alkayat is a yoga therapist, PT and journalist. Her experience includes 15 years as a health and wellness editor for national titles such as Runner’s World, Women’s Health and Men’s Health. She is a 580-hour accredited yoga therapist, 200-hour accredited yoga teacher and level 3 personal trainer.

After many years of running marathons, she discovered CrossFit and Olympic lifting in her mid-30s and fell in love with training and competing. She founded Yanar Mind & Movement for yoga therapy, relaxation yoga and personalized functional fitness, advocating the importance of mindful movement, strength work and nervous system regulation for better physical and mental health.

When not training, teaching or writing, she can be found experimenting in the kitchen.
