Are you drinking enough water? This smart water bottle can tell you and it's almost half off for October Prime Day

I thought a smart water bottle sounded silly, but then I tried it and I realized I do not drink anywhere near enough water

We all know how beneficial it is to stay well hydrated. I certainly do. I'm the editor of a health and fitness website that has written about how much water to drink every day after all. Plus, I've done the math prior to running a marathon about exactly how much water I should be drinking on the day and on the days leading up to the race.

And yet, when I tried the Water.io smart water bottle I realized I've been drinking nowhere near enough water. That's why I'll be recommending it in Fit&Well's collection of the best water bottles for the gym, but I'm writing about it now because you can buy Water.io for 44% off in the Amazon Prime Big Deal Days sale.

Save 44% Want to know exactly how much water you drink? You may be surprised once you start using this smart water bottle. It's easy to set up and see how much you drink in the app. While $100 feels like a lot to me, $55 for a 17oz insulated stainless steel water bottle is pretty standard and you get the smarts thrown in.

The thing I like the most about the Water.IO is that it's easy to use. It took minutes to download the app and pair the bottle with my iPhone and since then the app updates quickly.

The light on the top of the cap flashes a reminder to drink and the bottle can also vibrate—annoying but easily turned off.

The real killer feature though is that you can sync it with the app of your fitness tracker, if you own one, and when you record a workout, your daily goal rises in line with how intense your workout was.

The insulated stainless steel lining also keeps cold water cold, which was a nice change from the lukewarm water I used to drink in the gym.

I also received the carrying handle with my sample and I'd say it's worth buying that as well. It makes it much easier to carry around. There is a discounted bundle available, but it's $10 cheaper to buy the bottle above and the handle separately.
