Everything is better in black—get my favorite shoe from Nike in all black for 25% off at REI
Comfortable and goes with everything—grab these all-black sneakers from Nike for under $100

Nike's long-running Pegasus line is always a reliable choice when you want a comfortable, versatile pair of sneakers. I had the chance to test the Nike Pegasus 41 when it came out last year, and it earned itself a spot in my guide to the best walking shoes as the best Nike walking shoe.
The main downside of the pair I was sent to test was the white colorway, meaning the upper got marked almost immediately. There will be no such problems with the all-black pair on sale at REI. Dirt won't show up on the Black/Black/Anthracite (also pretty much black) colorway.
There's plenty of stock left in sizes 8-13. If you want a pop of color, the Midnight Navy/Silver colorway is also reduced, but the stock is much spottier.
The comfort level of the Pegasus 41 is right at the top of the scale. It's designed for road running so the sole has springy cushioning with plenty of energy return and a breathable mesh upper.
I didn't notice a huge difference between the Pegusus 40 and 41, but Nike says the shoe is lighter, and the upper is engineered to allow for more airflow. As far as I was concerned, the 41 lived up to the reputation of the Pegasus as a reliable do-it-all shoe.
