You don't need a lot of equipment to start exercising, but for just $30 you can get a setup that will see a beginner build muscle all over in a matter of months.
I've been deal-hunting for home workout equipment in Amazon's Prime Day sale for the last 24 hours, but I've yet to come across anything as affordable and effective as this selection of resistance bands and a three-month subscription to Chris Hemsworth's Centr fitness app.
Resistance bands are a great way to start strength training at home because they're more affordable than dumbbells, can be tidied away more easily than dumbbells when not in use and studies have shown resistance bands and weights result in similar strength gains.
The range of resistance bands included in this kit is also impressive. The tubed bands can be used with the handles, ankle straps and anchor to increase the challenge for an impressive range of exercises. This kit has been replaced by newer bundles, but at its clearance price the original essentials kit offers much better value. For instance, just a set of five tubed bands and app subscription costs $30.
